SECOND SERIES OF ‘THE WAY OUT’ OFF TO ROCK A SOLID START ON VTM
Last night saw the launch of the highly-anticipated second series of ‘The Way Out’ (local title: ‘Code van Coppens’) on VTM. The second series continued the phenomenal success of the first series, scoring a 38,4% market share in the 18-44 target. This marks an impressive increase of more than 75% against the channel’s slot average of 21,7% (VTM, Sept 2019-Aug 2020).
The success of the second series closely follows last week’s announcement of the third local adaptation for the format, to be launched by RTBF in French-speaking Belgium.
Both RTBF in French speaking Belgium and Talpa Network (SBS6) in the Netherlands are set to launch their versions of the format this fall. The success of the first series has not gone unnoticed in the global industry, with three local adaptations as well as five options already licensed to France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
On each episode, two different celebrity duos are sent into two identical rooms full of mysteries to be solved. Their quest? To figure out the scientific experiments and unravel the codes, in order to find ‘The Way Out’ first!
