Portuguese viewers tuned in en masse last Sunday night for the launch of ‘Did you get the Message?’ on SIC. The first episode of the International Emmy Award-winning hidden camera show scored an average market share of 23,1% in the 15+ target audience and outperformed the competition in the slot. An additional six episodes, including a best-of show, are to follow.

Be-Entertainment MD Gepke Nederlof: “It’s fantastic that ‘Did You Get the Message?’ is off to such a strong start in Portugal. The messages are clearly adaptable everywhere as they’re universal and readily recognizable.”

The hidden camera comedy, from prolific Belgian format creator Shelter, shows how to get a message across in such a unique and memorable way that there’s no chance of it ever being forgotten.

VTM in Belgium has thus far aired two phenomenally successful seasons, with a third series coming up later this year.

Elsewhere, the first six-episode series of ‘Did you get the Message?’ will launch on RTL4 in the Netherlands this fall.

In addition to winning the prestigious International Emmy award for best Non-Scripted Entertainment program, ‘Did you get the Message?’ also scored the C21 Award for best new comedy format. Most recently the show received its second gold win in the category ‘Comedy’ at the World Media Festival in Hamburg for its second series, after also capturing the top prize in this category last year for its first season.
