LOCAL HEROES - CORONA TRIBUTE ON VTM CONTINUES

Commercial broadcaster VTM in Belgium will broadcast the second episode of the unique special series titled “Local Heroes - Corona” around the Corona Pandemic tonight. The series launched last Monday March 23rd with a strong market share of 33,2% (VVA 18-44), a good increase when looking at the VTM channel average of 25,6%  (YTD 18-44). “Local Heroes” producer Geronimo started to document the behind-the-scenes footage on March 12th, just before the first big measurements were enforced by the Belgian government.

Local Heroes - Corona is a tribute to all those doctors, nurses, teachers, policemen and virology experts that are in the frontline fighting the Coronavirus. We’re putting the spotlight on these heroes, who keep the country going while working under extremely difficult conditions. We follow main character virologist Marc Van Ranst in both his professional life and at home and give  the viewer a unique behind-the-scenes look on a topic that is keeping the world in its grip. It is highly important to show such footage, because it can create additional awareness and convince people even more to follow up on the measures taken by the government.

When filming, the greatest safety and precautions were taken to not endanger anyone. Due to the limitations of traditional camera crews, the creative use of body cams and automatic camera systems visualize the work of these heroes during these exceptional times.

The series and clips of the series are distributed by Be-Entertainment.
