GERMANY FIFTH COUNTRY TO PRODUCE ‘GREETINGS FROM 19XX’

Germany will be the fifth country to feature ‘Greetings from 19xx’, the format that delivers a blast from the past. The first series, commissioned by ZDF, is currently being produced by Fabiola and is set to launch this year.

‘Greetings from 19xx’ has been a solid success in all countries where it has aired and has been recommissioned in every single country (Netherlands RTL4, Sweden TV4, Denmark TV2, Belgium VTM). A fourth series is already in the works in Belgium.

The factual entertainment series sees one famous family per episode experience a family weekend as though it took place in the year the celebrity was 12 years old. They have to leave behind smartphones and other modern-day devices to experience a family weekend in a house decorated as it was in ‘the old days’. They live, eat, relax, watch TV, wear clothes, do their hair and party like it’s 19xx while sharing their childhood memories with their family and the nation.
The format was developed by Lecter Media and is being distributed in cooperation with Be-Entertainment.
