FIRST Deal ‘DID YOU GET THE MESSAGE?’ with VOX IN GERMANY
BE-ENTERTAINMENT LICENSES ‘DID YOU GET THE MESSAGE?’ TO VOX IN GERMANY
A straight-to-license deal has been agreed at MIPCOM for Did You Get the Message? (previously noted in the press as How Shall I Put It?) to VOX, part of the RTL Group, for Germany. The deal comes just a week after Belgian viewers tuned in en masse to VTM in Belgium, where the launch of the show dominated the evening with a 35% market share in the key 18-44 target audience. The second episode, which aired last night, even further increased the market share to 39% in the same target group.
Handling the international distribution of the format is Be-Entertainment, the recently established international distribution arm of MEDIALAAN. Says Be-Entertainment MD Gepke Nederlof, introducing the format in Cannes: “It’s fantastic that we’re able to start our first TV market with such great content and that we’ve already entered into a straight to license deal for ‘Did You Get the Message?’ with Vox. We’re grateful that there’s plenty of buzz about this format as well as about the new company.”
The new hidden camera show is the highly anticipated brainchild of Tim van Aelst, Belgium’s most prolific content creator, responsible for such internationally successful formats as ‘Benidorm Bastards’ and ‘What If?’ The new format offers a fresh take on the best way to get a message across so there’s no chance of it being forgotten. All of the messages are easy to adapt in other countries, as those featured on the Belgian show are universal and readily recognizable.
